Discover What Nightmares Are

There are many horror games released these days. From adventures inside horror houses to surviving monster invasions, these games are out to scare you witless. Nightmares II: The Memory is one of the growing numbers of horror games. It offers first-person psychological horror gameplay that takes you through a journey of discovering what nightmares are. The game takes its inspiration from classic roguelike games, including 100% procedural-generated maps and perma-death. With this, the game becomes more intense and gives the player a sense of foreboding whenever you walk the hallways of the dungeon. If you are looking for a captivating horror experience, this might be what you are looking for.

Experience the Horrors of Night Terrors

What sets Nightmares II: The Memory apart from other horror games is that it does such a good job in capturing the realism of the human subconscious. It is very effective at making you feel helpless while you are in a dream. And while its gameplay does not feature any combat, its intense and scary atmosphere will be enough to keep you at the edge of your seat—not to mention that it has a rich 3D surround sound that makes it feel like the night terrors are near you.

The game is very simple. You only need to go through each dungeon and survive the horrors that lurk deep within it. Each dungeon is randomized to guarantee unlimited replay value. It also has an intelligent AI that changes based on the way you behave each night. There are also unlockable extras to give you more adventures. All of these are happening during your attempt to find the exit.

Nightmares II: The Memory doesn’t have a story, per se. It is very clear from the start that the game is only dedicated to scaring you—which it does, magnificently. However, it can be quite repetitive if you keep dying and have to redo the levels. But all in all, if you are looking for a chilling survival game, this one should be on your list.

PROS

  • Great atmosphere with dark aesthetics
  • The randomly-generated map avoids monotony
  • Good graphics
  • Rich 3D surround sound

CONS

  • No storyline
  • The gameplay can be a bit repetitive
  • Heavy on the resources
  • Can be way too scary
